For diesel engine bellows
Diesel engine bellows (mostly metallic, accordion – shaped flexible joints) are essential for exhaust, air intake, and fluid systems, as they compensate for thermal expansion, absorb vibration, and accommodate misalignment, thereby enhancing system durability and reliability.

for diesel engine bellows
Applications
- Exhaust Systems: The most common use. Installed between the engine exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe/treatment device (DPF, SCR), it absorbs axial, lateral, and angular movements caused by thermal expansion and engine vibration, preventing cracking and leakage of rigid pipes, and isolating vibration to protect the chassis and surrounding components. It is widely used in heavy – duty trucks, construction machinery, marine diesel engines, and generator sets.
- Air Intake Systems: Used at the connection between the turbocharger outlet and the intake pipe. It compensates for the displacement and vibration of the turbocharger during operation, ensures stable air intake, and reduces the risk of air leakage and pipe damage.
- Fluid & Hydraulic Systems: Applied in fuel lines and hydraulic accumulators. Metal bellows in accumulators separate nitrogen and fuel, avoid elastomer compatibility issues, and resist high – temperature fuel (up to 320°F/160°C) while maintaining airtightness. This reduces maintenance needs for pulsation dampening.
- Cooling & After – treatment Connections: Used between the EGR cooler, DPF, and the exhaust pipe. It accommodates thermal expansion and installation misalignment, ensuring the integrity of the after – treatment system and reducing stress on welded joints.
Advantages
-
Excellent Thermal Expansion & Vibration Absorption
Effectively absorbs axial, lateral and angular movements caused by high-temperature exhaust, while isolating engine vibration, preventing pipeline cracking and leakage far better than rubber hoses.
-
High Temperature & Corrosion Resistance
Made of stainless steel (304/316L) or high-temperature alloys, it withstands exhaust temperatures up to 1000°C, resists corrosion from exhaust gas and chemicals, and has a much longer service life than rubber parts.
-
Strong Durability & Low Maintenance
With welded structure and no internal friction, it runs stably for a long time, reduces failure rate, lowers maintenance frequency and after-sales costs.
-
Compact Structure & Space Saving
Compared with traditional pipe bends and loops, it shortens installation length, adapts to narrow engine compartments and complex layouts.
-
Good Flexibility & Customization
Can be customized with flanges, sleeves or liners, matched to different sizes, pressures and movement requirements, suitable for various heavy-duty diesel engine models.
-
Vibration & Noise Reduction
Reduces vibration transmission to chassis and cab, lowers noise from rigid pipe connection, improves vehicle comfort and environmental performance.
